The fastest diagnosis is what you can see
Fill the rinse aid reservoir and run one normal cycle. On a machine that dries by condensation rather than by a heating element, rinse aid is what makes water run off instead of sitting in droplets — and an empty reservoir is behind a large share of these calls. It is a bottle, not a visit.
Two ways of drying, and they fail differently
Some dishwashers dry with a heating element in the tub; others dry by condensation, using the heat retained in the load and a cool tub wall for the moisture to run down. The second is quieter and gentler and it depends absolutely on rinse aid, because water has to run off surfaces rather than sit on them. That is why an empty reservoir on a condensation dryer is not a small omission.
