Read what the appliance requires
Every one of these has an installation specification: an opening size, a clearance, a ventilation path, a supply. Half the problems we are called about later are an appliance that never had one of them.

Set it in and level it
A range that is not level cooks unevenly and a door that is not square does not seal. Leveling is not a finishing touch on these machines, it is part of whether they work.

Connections and safety
Gas connections tested for leaks, anti-tip fitted on a freestanding range, water connections made and run, electrical checked against what the appliance draws. None of these is optional and all of them get skipped somewhere.

Hang the panels and prove it
On a column or a panel-ready dishwasher, the custom front goes on square and aligned to the cabinets either side, and the door is checked closing and sealing with the panel in place — because that is how it will live.

Thirty-seven ranges in the current line and the reason most people know this maker at all. Eleven are all gas, nine dual fuel, thirteen induction; ten of them run brass burners and sixteen carry a cast iron griddle across the middle. A 48-inch range is two ovens, six burners and that griddle in one machine, and any one of those is a reason to call. Almost none of it announces a code when it stops — this is a make you diagnose by what it does, not by what it displays.

Why installation is a repair subject on this make
Most of this line is built in: refrigeration columns behind custom panels, wall ovens in tall housings, cooktops and rangetops set into stone, hoods with ducting through a ceiling. Each of those has a specification — an opening, a clearance, a ventilation path — and each of them, done approximately, produces a complaint months later that reads as an appliance problem.
The three we see most
- Induction in a sealed island. No air path, a board that overheats, and an intermittent zone that gets diagnosed as electronics.
- Hood ducting. Reduced, bent, crushed or terminated indoors. The hood is blamed and the hood is fine.
- Column panels hung out of square. A door that does not seal, a machine that runs continuously, and an evaporator that ices.
The safety items that get skipped
Anti-tip brackets on freestanding ranges. Leak-tested gas connections. Electrical supply sized for what an induction range actually draws. None of these is glamorous and every one of them is checked as part of the job, because the alternative is a phone call nobody wants to make.

Questions about bertazzoni appliance installation & refit
My induction cooktop keeps cutting out and someone said it is the installation.
They may well be right, and it is the commonest installation problem we see. Induction power boards sit under the cooktop, they make heat, and they are cooled by air pulled through the cabinet. A sealed island built beautifully after the appliance went in has nowhere for that air to come from. The fix is ventilation rather than electronics, and it is worth establishing before a board is bought.
Can you install an appliance I bought elsewhere?
Yes. Where it came from makes no difference to us — what matters is the opening, the supply and the ventilation. If you send the model number before the visit we can tell you what the appliance needs, which is much better than finding out with it on your kitchen floor.
The hood was installed and it has never worked properly.
That is a common and fixable story, and it is usually ducting rather than the hood: a run that is too long or too bent, a diameter reduced somewhere, a termination into a soffit instead of outside, or a recirculating unit where a ducted one was needed. We will measure what is actually being moved and tell you what it would take to put right.
Do you take the old appliance away?
We can disconnect and move it clear, and we will tell you honestly what is involved in disposal in your building — which in a lot of Miami buildings is the harder half of the job. It is worth settling before the day rather than on it.
