It may — but a door that no longer seals produces exactly that symptom and costs a fraction to put right. On a column it is more likely than on a freestanding machine, because the door is carrying a heavy custom panel and the hinges have been doing that for years. It is worth ruling out first, and we do. ### The door does not close by itself any more. The closer or the hinge tension, and it matters more than it sounds. A door that stops a quarter inch short does not seal, and a column that is not sealing runs continuously and ices its evaporator. This is the cheapest repair on the refrigeration side of this site and it prevents two of the more expensive ones. ### The cabinet front is misaligned with the rest of the kitchen. That is adjustable, and it is worth having done properly rather than living with. The panel mounts on brackets with adjustment in several directions, and getting it back into line with the neighboring doors is part of this job rather than an extra. ### Do you take the panel off? Only where the work requires it, and it goes back aligned.
