Almost always the ignitor itself, and it is the most counter-intuitive problem on a gas oven. It has to pass a certain current to open the safety valve, and an aged one glows brightly while falling below that threshold. It is measured rather than eyeballed. ### The top burners work fine. Does that rule out a gas problem? It rules out the supply to the appliance, which is useful.
